Love Letter to Female College Athletes

Dear Athlete,

That pain you’re feeling in your core, it sucks. It hurts and you don’t really have answers to why it’s showing up. You’re playing through it as much as possible, but that’s definitely not helping. You just want to stay in bed and hope it starts to feel better. But there’s no time for that with classes and practices and study sessions and homework.

You’re losing your spot on the team and now your grades are slipping too. You’re seriously contemplating quitting and praying you can just make it to summer break. You’re depressed and the coaches and trainers want you to add an appointment to your week to see a sports psychologist. Sounds like a good idea but it’s just another thing to do and that list is long enough.

The trainers are asking about your diet. Like a college student can really put focus on this! You’re getting whatever is available and quick after practice and shoving it in so you can get to homework and studying or class and practice.

What’s a girl to do?

I see you.
I’ve been you.
And I can help you.

I want to see you conquer this and succeed across the board – school, sport, and sanity. It took me switching schools to get it back together. That isn’t necessary unless the school you’re at isn’t a good fit.

Have you talked to anyone about this situation? Your parents or your closest friends that aren’t on the team are good sources to help you reflect on this.

If it’s not the school or team or coaches that are contributing to this issue, then we must look at your day to day schedule and how your body is responding to all you’re putting it through.

I can tell you what’s really going on in your guts, map out how to heal it, and put you on track to get back to class, practice, and life without the pain. I can do it faster than how the western medicine model produces answers. It’s a fast way to know if further testing is necessary and it’ll give you peace of mind. Knowing is half the battle!

Let’s jump on a call to get you on the road to recovery! Head to the Work With Me button to jump on my calendar.

Love,

Amanda

About Amanda

Former engineer on several NASA projects turned medical intuitive. I work with female college athletes with gut pain that is taking her out of her sport. Along with the unpredictable pain, she’s struggling with depression and her grades are starting to slip. I can scan her body to see what’s wrong, clarify it for her, map the path forward, and land her back in her best condition, back in her happy life, back in the game.

Curious about working with Amanda?
