Naming the Overwhelm
Your alarm goes off and you’re already tired.
Not “didn’t sleep great” tired. The kind of tired that’s been building for weeks, the kind that sits in your joints and your jaw and the space behind your eyes. You get up anyway. You make the lunches, answer the emails, show up to the thing you said you’d show up to, hold the conversation you don’t have the bandwidth for. You grit your teeth and you get through it.
And from the outside, nobody would know anything is wrong. That’s the part that makes this so hard to name.
If you’re a sensitive body right now, there’s a good chance this is your September. Not a crisis. Not a breakdown. Just a slow, quiet accumulation of overwhelm that you’ve gotten very good at pushing through, because pushing through is what you do.
Here’s the woo: your body isn’t malfunctioning. It’s accurately responding to more input than it was ever meant to metabolize alone, and it’s been doing that for a while now.
What “Stuck” Actually Looks Like
I want to be specific here, because “overwhelm” gets thrown around so much it’s basically lost its meaning.
Stuck looks like your body pushing you toward the edge of what you can handle, and several things going sideways at once, not in a dramatic way, just in a frustrating, confusing, discouraging way. It looks like sleep that isn’t landing the way it used to. It looks like your hormones feeling off in ways you can’t quite explain to your doctor, because nothing shows up clearly on a bloodwork panel. It looks like gritting it out through the parts of life that don’t pause for how you feel: work, family, the school pickup line, the group chat that needs a response.
You’re not falling apart. You’re just running on far less than you need, for far longer than makes sense, and calling it normal because you don’t know what else to call it.
This is the part I want to name clearly, because sensitive bodies are so good at powering through that they often don’t realize how much they’re powering through until someone else says it out loud.
Why This Is Happening Right Now
We just came through a stretch of real cosmic intensity. The solar activity that’s been building for months is finally past its peak. We’re easing down from the maximum, not dropping into some deep quiet (that’s still years off), but the intensity is genuinely de-escalating.
Here’s the thing about de-escalation: it doesn’t feel instant. Your nervous system doesn’t get the memo the second the sun does. There’s a lag. The storm is passing, but your body is still catching up to that fact, still running the old alert level because that’s what it’s been calibrated to do for months. That gap between “the intensity has actually eased” and “my body has caught up to that” is exactly where a lot of sensitive people are living right now.
Add in that we’re heading toward the end of summer, the return to full routines, kids back in school, the particular chaos of everyone’s schedule resetting all at once, and you’ve got a body that’s still metabolizing cosmic intensity while also being asked to run a household, a job, a life, at full speed.
That’s not weakness. That’s just a lot to carry at once.
The Fear Underneath the Overwhelm
If I’m honest about what I hear from clients in moments like this, it’s rarely “I’m overwhelmed.” It’s something closer to: I’ve tried everything, and I still haven’t gotten it right.
That’s the real fear sitting underneath the gritting-it-out. Not just tiredness, but a creeping sense that you should have this figured out by now, that everyone else seems to be managing fine, that if your body still feels this off after everything you’ve already tried, maybe the problem is you.
It isn’t. I want to say that as plainly as I can. Your body isn’t broken, and you’re not missing some obvious fix that everyone else already found. What’s actually happening is that most of the explanations you’ve been offered were never built for a body like yours. They weren’t built to account for cosmic and environmental input as a real, physical variable. So of course they haven’t fully worked. You’ve been trying to solve the right problem with the wrong map.
What I Understand About You Now
I’ve spent the last several years helping sensitive bodies understand what’s actually going on underneath symptoms that mainstream explanations can’t quite account for. Not because those bodies are broken, but because they’re accurately picking up on things most frameworks don’t even measure.
One of the things I’ve noticed, over and over, in client work: the breakthrough almost never announces itself the way people expect. It doesn’t show up as a lightning bolt of “I feel amazing now.” It shows up quietly, in the body easing first, and then, underneath that, in a shift that already happened somewhere else. An attitude. A response. A moment where you stayed steady instead of spiraling, and didn’t even clock it as a big deal.
I’ll be sharing more of that pattern throughout this month, because it’s been showing up again and again in my client work lately, and I think it’s some of the most important stuff I can reflect back to the people I work with.
Where the Healing Roadmap Fits
If any of this is landing for you, if you recognize yourself in the gritting-it-out, the tried-everything-and-it-still-doesn’t-add-up, I want you to know there’s a next step that doesn’t require you to have it all figured out first.
The Healing Roadmap is the full spectrum version of the work I do: a clear read on what’s actually going on in your system, a Comprehensive look at your unique wiring, distance body clearing, a full mentorship call to walk through what we find together, ongoing monitoring, and a customized plan built around your actual body, not a generic protocol. It’s for the moments when you’re ready to stop guessing and get real support around what your body’s been trying to tell you.
I’m not asking you to sign up for anything today. I just want you to know it’s there, built for exactly this kind of stuck.
And if you’re not sure where you’d even start, the Cosmic Sensitive Quiz takes two minutes and will tell you which of the four cosmic sensitive types you are: SOLA, BARO, EMPA, or LUNA. It’s a simple place to start seeing your own patterns more clearly.
One Thing Before You Go
If you take one thing from this, let it be this: gritting it out is not the same as being fine. Your body pushing you toward overwhelm right now isn’t a sign that something’s wrong with you. It’s a sign that you’ve been carrying more than you’ve had support for, and that you’re allowed to want something different than pushing through.
You don’t have to have the full picture yet. You just have to be willing to start naming what’s actually happening. That’s this week’s whole invitation.
Stay Gutsy,
Amanda

About Amanda
Former engineer on several NASA projects turned medical intuitive. I work with female college athletes with gut pain that is taking her out of her sport. Along with the unpredictable pain, she’s struggling with depression and her grades are starting to slip. I can scan her body to see what’s wrong, clarify it for her, map the path forward, and land her back in her best condition, back in her happy life, back in the game.
