What Eclipse Season Actually Does to a Sensitive Body — By Type

You’ve probably noticed it: a full moon night where sleep feels impossible, a new moon week where everything goes quiet, or a night the Aurora Borealis showed up somewhere it doesn’t usually reach and you felt strange, wired, or off. The moon has a pull on the body. So does solar activity. Most people have caught onto one of these by now — just not both.

Now let’s take this another layer deeper into how eclipses affect sensitive bodies. Something few people are talking about and even fewer are helping you prepare for.

Eclipses turn what you experience with full moons, new moons, and auroras WAY UP! That’s why you need a little prep work. Eclipses don’t just nudge your nervous system. They flood it.

That’s not superstition. Eclipses temporarily increase the amount of information your nervous system is processing — significantly more than an ordinary lunar cycle or a typical day of solar activity. Which is why, if you’ve felt off this week without knowing why, there might be a reason showing up in the sky that nobody’s told you about yet.

And we’re in one right now. Eclipse season is back — the same one I wrote about back in February, when the year’s first eclipse pair rolled through. This time it’s showing up as a solar eclipse on August 12. Its path of totality crosses eastern Greenland, western Iceland, and northern Spain, marking the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999. Beyond that path, it’s a partial eclipse across most of the rest of Europe, northwestern Africa, and the northern US and Canada.

Then a partial lunar eclipse follows August 27-28, visible across the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Most of Asia and Australia will miss it entirely, since the moon will be below the horizon there.

HOW IT SHOWS UP BY TYPE — AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

This section covers how your Cosmic Sensitive Type is affected by the eclipses. If you don’t know your type, take 2 min to take it here.

Solar and lunar eclipses don’t land the same way for every Cosmic Sensitive Type. Here’s what tends to activate for each, and the specific moves that actually help.

☀️ SOLA

Solar eclipses can temporarily disrupt the rhythms your body depends on.

Move #1: Get morning sunlight. Within an hour of waking, spend a few minutes outside to reinforce your circadian rhythm.

Move #2: Keep your normal schedule. Avoid sleeping in, skipping meals, or staying indoors all day.

🌦️ BARO

Solar eclipses can feel like one more environmental change your body has to process.

Move #1: Hydrate with electrolytes. Your nervous system functions best when you’re well hydrated.

Move #2: Choose gentle movement over intense exercise. Walking, stretching, or mobility work helps your body regulate without adding more stress.

🌙 LUNA

During a lunar eclipse, your body may feel emotionally “louder” than usual.

Move #1: Protect your sleep. Go to bed earlier than normal, dim lights after sunset, and resist the urge to stay up processing everything you’re feeling.

Move #2: Let emotions move instead of solving them. Take a walk, journal, cry if you need to, or simply notice what comes up without trying to fix it.

❤️ EMPA

Lunar eclipses can make it harder to tell what’s yours and what’s everyone else’s.

Move #1: Spend intentional time alone. Even 20-30 minutes without other people’s energy can help your nervous system recalibrate.

Move #2: Ask one simple question whenever emotions spike. “Is this mine?” That question alone creates enough space for your nervous system to stop absorbing everything around you.

A QUICK SOMATIC CHECK-IN

Place one hand on your chest, one hand on your belly. Notice your breath without changing it yet.

Ask your body — not your mind — “Where am I feeling pressure right now?” Don’t analyze it. Just notice. Tightness, heat, buzzing, restlessness, numbness — whatever’s there.

Then ask: “Is this pressure asking me to push forward, or asking me to pause and reorient?”

Take one slow inhale into the belly, and a long exhale out through the mouth. This kind of pressure isn’t a warning sign. It’s a signal that something is reorganizing.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO READ YOUR OWN WEATHER ALONE

Knowing your type is one layer. Having a specific plan for it is another. Inside the Cosmic Sensitive Circle, each archetype has its own Eclipse Nervous System Kit — personalized regulation practices, body signals to watch for, and ways to support your nervous system before, during, and after eclipse season.

If you don’t know your type yet, the Cosmic Sensitive Quiz is free and takes a few minutes. And if you want a deeper, one-on-one read on what your body’s specifically holding onto right now, a Body Scan is built exactly for that conversation.

Until next time — stay oriented, move with what’s real, and trust your sensitive body. It knows.

About Amanda

Former engineer on several NASA projects turned medical intuitive. I work with female college athletes with gut pain that is taking her out of her sport. Along with the unpredictable pain, she’s struggling with depression and her grades are starting to slip. I can scan her body to see what’s wrong, clarify it for her, map the path forward, and land her back in her best condition, back in her happy life, back in the game.
