Between Worlds: What It Really Means When the Veil Thins
You’ve felt it, haven’t you?
The air shifts. The night grows still. Something deep inside you knows there’s more to this world than what your eyes can see.
Every year around this time — Samhain, Halloween, Día de los Muertos, All Saints Day — the veil between worlds becomes thin. The unseen feels closer. Our dreams turn vivid. The air itself feels charged. But what’s actually happening when we say “the veil is thinning”?
After years of studying energy, intuition, and the natural rhythms of the Earth, I’ve learned that this phenomenon isn’t just mystical — it’s biological, energetic, and deeply personal.
What Is “The Veil”?
Energetically, the veil is the natural boundary between the physical and non-physical — between matter and energy, between form and spirit.
As the Earth tilts toward winter, our planet’s electromagnetic field shifts. The nights grow longer, and the Earth’s resonance — what scientists call the Schumann Resonance — fluctuates. Because your nervous system is part of this same field, you feel these changes too.
Your intuition sharpens. Your dreams deepen. You begin to sense that there’s more in the room than meets the eye.
When the world grows still, spirit gets louder.
Ghosts, Angels, and Spirit — Clearing Up the Language
While traveling and studying with spiritual teachers like Maria and Linda Yraceburu, I’ve had the privilege of learning how different traditions understand the unseen world. Let’s untangle some of that language.
Ghosts are energetic echoes — fragments of consciousness still tethered to the physical world, often lingering because of emotion, confusion, or unfinished purpose. They’re not here to haunt you. They’re here to be seen and released.
Spirit is the life force that animates everything. It moves through you, not separate from you — the pulse that connects all creation.
Angels and Archangels are higher-frequency beings of order, protection, and divine love. Think of them as vast fields of energy embodying qualities like courage, truth, or healing.
Spirit Guides and Ancestors are the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. They’re not “above” or “below” — they simply resonate at frequencies closer to our own, guiding us from within and around us.
In truth, there’s no hierarchy here — only vibration and resonance.
An Indigenous View of Spirit
Many Indigenous traditions don’t see spirit as something separate or distant. Ancestors aren’t “somewhere else” — they’re in the land, the wind, the rivers, the fire. They’re living presence.
When you connect to nature, you’re already connecting to your lineage. You’re walking on the breath of those who came before you.
This season — from Samhain to Día de los Muertos — is about remembrance. Not of what’s lost, but of what still lives through you. Your ancestors aren’t gone. They’ve simply transformed.
How to Connect Safely and Sacredly
If you feel called to connect with spirit tonight, or any night, start with intention and reverence.
Set your intention.
Say aloud that you’re inviting in only what serves your highest good — and the highest good of the energies you’re connecting with.Create sacred space.
Light a candle. Take a few deep breaths. Let your body soften. Spirit meets you most easily when you’re calm and open.Call in by name.
Whether it’s ancestors, guides, or angels, call them by name if you know it. Speak clearly, gently, and with gratitude.Listen with all your senses.
Spirit often speaks through sensations — warmth, chills, subtle emotions, or signs in nature. Trust what arises.Close consciously.
When you’re done, thank the energies for coming and release them with intention. Spirit communication is relational. It’s a conversation, not a command.
Safety and spirit work always begin with intention. When you treat these connections with respect, they unfold with clarity and grace.
The Science Behind the Sensitivity
Energetically, this time of year mirrors cosmic rhythms — solar storms, magnetic shifts, and fluctuations in Earth’s field. Because your body is electromagnetic, you experience this in real time.
You may notice vivid dreams, sudden emotions, or synchronicities that feel too precise to ignore. Rather than brushing them off, what if you treated them as messages?
Your intuition is your instrument. The veil just tunes it.
The Deeper Meaning of This Season
Halloween. Samhain. Día de los Muertos. All Saints Day.
Each celebration carries the same message — remembrance, reflection, and reverence for Spirit.
The veil doesn’t separate you from the unseen. It invites you to see what was always there: that you are both living and legacy, seen and unseen, body and soul.
When you light your candle tonight or whisper a prayer, remember — you are Spirit in form. You are connected to everything that ever was and everything yet to come.
This season isn’t about fear. It’s about remembering your place in the great rhythm of life and honoring what moves through you.
Final Reflection
As you move through this time when worlds feel closer, pause and listen.
Spirit isn’t waiting in the shadows. It’s right here, in your breath, your heartbeat, the earth beneath your feet.
The veil doesn’t hide the sacred. It simply asks you to notice it.

About Amanda
Former engineer on several NASA projects turned medical intuitive. I work with female college athletes with gut pain that is taking her out of her sport. Along with the unpredictable pain, she’s struggling with depression and her grades are starting to slip. I can scan her body to see what’s wrong, clarify it for her, map the path forward, and land her back in her best condition, back in her happy life, back in the game.
