How Solar Energy and Seasonal Shifts Impact Your Body
(and How to Stay Grounded Through It All)

If you’ve been feeling off lately—tired, foggy, strangely emotional, restless at night, or flooded with dreams—you’re not alone. Your body isn’t malfunctioning. It’s responding.

We’re moving through a powerful combination of seasonal transitions and solar activity, and your body, just like the Earth, is recalibrating.

As both an aerospace engineer and a medical intuitive, I’ve spent years studying how solar flares, geomagnetic storms, and seasonal shifts influence our nervous systems, hormones, moods, and sleep. What I’ve found is both fascinating and empowering: your body is a cosmic antenna, constantly syncing to the energy around it.

In this post, you’ll discover how to stay grounded and energized through these transitions with simple food shifts, body rituals, and cosmic awareness.

The Energy of the Seasons: Your Body’s Rhythmic Blueprint

In Ayurveda, seasons aren’t just dates on a calendar—they’re living, breathing energies that interact with your body. Each season carries an elemental signature, or dosha, that shapes how your body feels and functions.

  • Fall into Winter (Vata Season): airy, cool, and dry.

  • Winter into Spring (Kapha Season): earthy, moist, and grounding.

  • Summer (Pitta Season): fiery, hot, and transformative.

Right now, in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re entering Vata season—a time when everything feels lighter, faster, and drier. Those qualities can throw your nervous system off balance, leading to anxiety, dryness, fatigue, or restless sleep.

Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere moves into Kapha season, where energy slows and the body may feel heavier or sluggish.

A Hidden Force: Space Weather and Your Nervous System

Here’s where the science comes in.

When the sun releases solar flares or coronal mass ejections (CMEs), the charged particles interact with Earth’s magnetic field. During equinoxes, those shields are more open, meaning solar energy can have a stronger influence on our systems.

And 2025 isn’t just any year—we’re in a solar maximum, meaning the sun is particularly active. Add in the interstellar comet 3I Atlas currently orbiting near the sun, and the solar winds are intense.

That’s why you might be:

  • Waking up with a racing mind or heart palpitations

  • Having vivid, emotional dreams

  • Feeling more fatigued or foggy

  • Experiencing emotional surges or restless energy

None of this means something’s wrong with you. It means your body, just like Earth, is adjusting to the energetic weather.

Seasonal Food Shifts for Grounding and Balance

Fall into Winter (Vata Season – Northern Hemisphere)

Vata is air and space energy—fast, cool, and light. Balance it with warmth, heaviness, and stability.

Nourish yourself with:

  • Warm soups and stews

  • Roasted root vegetables

  • Grains and healthy fats (ghee, sesame oil, olive oil)

Avoid cold smoothies and raw salads right now. Cooked, grounding foods help buffer your nervous system against both solar and environmental stress.

Winter into Spring (Kapha Season – Southern Hemisphere)

Kapha is earth and water energy—slow, cool, and heavy. It needs lightness and warmth.

Support your body with:

  • Broths and sautéed greens

  • Lentils and light grains

  • Warming spices like cinnamon, turmeric, and black pepper

This is the perfect time for a gentle cleanse—not restriction, just lighter eating to wake up digestion.

Summer (Pitta Season)

When heat and solar energy rise, your inner fire does too. Cool it with:

  • Fruits, cucumber, mint, cilantro, and coconut water

  • Fewer spicy foods and caffeine (unless you’re constantly in AC)

When you live with the heat, match the heat. It helps your body adapt more efficiently.

Body Rituals to Regulate and Recalibrate

1. Abhyanga (Oil Massage)

Before your shower, massage warm oil (like sesame in fall or coconut in summer) from head to toe. This Ayurvedic ritual grounds the nervous system and shields your energy during times of high solar activity.

2. Dry Brushing

Use a firm brush or exfoliating gloves to stimulate lymph flow. This helps clear stagnation, especially in spring, when Kapha energy can make you feel heavy or tired.

3. Grounding with Sunlight

Step outside each morning. Bare feet on the earth, face toward the sun. Just a minute of natural light helps reset your circadian rhythm and balance your body’s magnetic field.

4. Breathwork for Balance

  • For grounding and warmth: Try Bhastrika or Kapalabhati (fast nasal breathing).

  • For cooling and calming: Try Sitali (rolling the tongue) or Moon Piercing Breath.

5. Digital Detox

During solar storms, EMF sensitivity can spike. Unplug when possible. Step away from screens and reconnect with natural elements—air, water, sunlight, earth.

Reflection Prompts for Seasonal Awareness

As the energy shifts, take a few moments to ask yourself:

  • What’s changing in me?

  • What is my body asking for right now?

  • How can I ground more deeply as the world around me transforms?

When you live in rhythm with the cosmos, your body’s whispers become clear guidance instead of symptoms.

The Gutsy Chick Way

Every solar flare, every seasonal shift, is an invitation to recalibrate—not resist.

When you understand how to align with nature’s rhythms, burnout becomes balance, exhaustion becomes insight, and your body becomes your greatest teacher.

Remember: you are not separate from the sun, the tides, or the turning of the Earth. You’re part of the same system.
Your healing deserves space, not speed.

About Amanda

Former engineer on several NASA projects turned medical intuitive. I work with female college athletes with gut pain that is taking her out of her sport. Along with the unpredictable pain, she’s struggling with depression and her grades are starting to slip. I can scan her body to see what’s wrong, clarify it for her, map the path forward, and land her back in her best condition, back in her happy life, back in the game.
